In this weeks Ted talk the speaker Nathan Myhrvold talks about food. Not necessarily a how to guide on how to make the perfect steak, but the science behind it all.
4 years ago Myhrvold set out to show people food in a way nobody has ever seen it before. He decided to make a cookbook to communicate science and technique and most importantly wonder of food. He also explains the physics on the amount of heat to use and more technical things when cooking food. The first picture they took was a cutaway on what happens when steaming broccoli and how steaming and boiling take different amounts of time. These cutaway pictures really worked and soon enough they made a full book.
The idea of this amazing book I think is very appealing to the eye and I find it very interesting. I would really enjoy getting this book so I can learn more on the proper ways to cook food and so would many other people.
